Connect the Cite42 MCP server
Connect the Cite42 MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor, then ask in plain English for AI search, visibility, keyword and trend data.
Pick your environment
The fastest path is MCP: one setup and your agent can call the API directly. Choose Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex CLI, Codex Desktop, Cursor, Claude.ai, or ChatGPT. For environments that don't speak MCP, use the REST API.
- Create your account
Calls bill to your Cite42 account, so you need one to connect.
- Install and sign in
Run this in your terminal. It adds Cite42 to all your projects and opens your browser to sign in. No API key needed.
$ claude mcp add --transport http --scope user cite42 https://mcp.cite42.dev && claude mcp login cite42
Then start Claude Code, or restart it if it was already open. Check with
/mcp. - Ask in natural language
No code required. Your agent picks among 27 Cite42 tools, including free tracker management and history reads plus billed scheduled, manual, and live-data calls.
"How do Acme CRM, Rival CRM, and Legacy CRM rank in ChatGPT for "best startup CRM"?"
If Cite42 isn't configured, run: claude mcp add --transport http --scope user cite42 https://mcp.cite42.dev Then tell me to restart Claude Code and sign in with /mcp.
For CI or headless servers, use Node.js 22.13+ and a key from API keys. Then restart Claude Code.
